From AP, Nov. 2:
BAGHDAD – An Iraqi journalist who was kidnapped last month was found dead nearly two weeks after his abduction, a media advocacy group said Thursday.
Khalil, who worked for several Iraqi daily newspapers, was abducted by gunmen who surrounded his car, the group said. His body was found 13 days later, the Paris-based group said.
On Sunday, Iraqi state television presenter, Sherin Hamid, and her driver were found dead in central Baghdad, a day after they were abducted by gunmen.
With Khalil‘s death, at least 87 journalists have been killed in Iraq since hostilities began on March 2003, according to an Associated Press count based on statistics kept by New York‘s Committee to Protect Journalists.
