Drug Czar: pot growers are terrorists

From Northern California’s Redding Record-Searchlight, July 13, via BoingBoing.net, which notes “The D.E.A. working with National Guard troops and Blackhawk helicoptors set upon Shasta County, California this week to deal with the domestic terror threat of… pot growers”:

John P. Walters, President Bush’s drug czar, said the people who plant and tend the gardens are terrorists who wouldn’t hesitate to help other terrorists get into the country with the aim of causing mass casualties. Walters made the comments at a Thursday press conference that provided an update on the “Operation Alesia” marijuana-eradication effort.

“Don’t buy drugs. They fund violence and terror,” he said.

After touring gardens raided this week in Shasta County, Walters said the officers who are destroying the gardens are performing hard, dangerous work in rough terrain. He said growers have been known to have weapons, including assault rifles.

“These people are armed; they’re dangerous,” he said. He called them “violent criminal terrorists.”

  1. DEA helps fund Osama Bin Laden
Hereby I publicly accuse John P. Walters for aiding and abetting terrorism. It is therefore a duty of every American citizen to make a citizens arrest of said individual. Constitution of US provides for creating a citizens militia to protect their business interests and to thwart a government beholden to the interests of foreign empires.

Indictment of Mr. Walters before the Grand Jury should include:
    1) By re-directing human and material (Blackhawk helicopters!) military resources from the war on terror to destruction of plant life in California, indicted Walters puts the lives of US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, who could claim better use of those resources, in danger, and therefore is guilty of treason.
    2) By destroying of local production, the accused forces US potheads to rely on imports, and the imports, in case of cannabis, come mostly from the countries ruled by radical Islamists, like Afghanistan, the biggest illicit drugs exporter in the world. It should be our intention to prove that actions of the accused helped billions of dollars of reefer sales proceeds end up, instead of in the jeans pockets of local Californian white trash, in the pockets of robes of Taliban. Therefore, it should be our conclusion that Mr. Walters is guilty of direct aid to persons suspect of links to terrorism.

    Walters to Guantanamo!

    1. World cannabis exporters
A cute post, but Afghanistan is nowhere near the world’s biggest cannabis exporter. It is the world’s biggest opium exporter, and possibly the top hashish exporter. But Mexico and maybe even Canada are far ahead in total cannabis exports.
