It has come to our attention that this piece incorrectly places the CIA-backed Tibetan insurgency in the 1950s. In fact, the guerilla movement was launched in response to the 1956 repression, and reached its height in the 1960s. It was dropped by the CIA when the US established ties with the People’s Republic of China in 1974. (See World War 4 Report, July 6, 2008)
